Used for cleaning sinks, ovens, etc., & can be accidentally swallowed, especially by young children. !b i! It is important to prevent this by keeping all cleaning fluids out of reach of children. !n! Such fluids contain sodium hypochlorite which, if swallowed, can burn {oesophagus} & {stomach}.


TREATMENT: Try to identify fluid ingested. If cleaning liquid, give large amounts of water or milk to dilute substance if conscious. Transfer patient to hospital urgently.
